Stop Online Privacy Act ‘CISPA is US cyber-security loophole’
The readiness of the internet community to self organize for mass protests against censorship and online privacy curtailment has taken US legislators aback, believes Trevor Timm, web freedom activist from the Electronic Frontier foundation. Since the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) was halted in January, the wave of outrage has not ceased as the Congress gets ready to ratify another already-notorious bill. Angry internet users are protesting against the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) web security bill pending in the US Congress. Web surfers fear the bill will make privacy a thing of the past. Trevor Timm spoke to RT about the bill.

Chile Earthquake Footage 17-04-2012
A strong magnitude-6.7 earthquake shook central Chile late Monday, prompting authorities to order the evacuation of a stretch of coastline and causing hundreds of people in the capital to flee buildings in panic. There were no reports of major damage, but authorities in the port city of Valparaiso said a 72-year-old man died of a heart attack during the quake. The earthquake was felt for almost a minute in Valparaiso and the capital, Santiago. New House Internet Bill Brews Controversy
BY LUCAS GEISLER Remember SOPA? The House Internet censorship bill that caused a public uproar and made Wikipedia and other sites so angry they shut down for a day? Well, some people feel another bill is coming after the Internet. The House will vote on the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, or CISPA, later this month. The bill would allow the Director of National Intelligence to retrieve information from private online companies if they suspect a cyber threat. But not everyone believes the bill is doing much protecting.
